International travel is becoming more and more accessible. What does the future of international travel look like? Changing demographics and increasing numbers of travelers are combining with emerging technologies and processes to change the landscape of foreign and domestic airports. In what ways will self-service and mobile technologies, biometric identification, access to wifi, or innovative use of e-signage and way-finding impact future travelers? How will new processes, staffing solutions, and facility design changes improve security?

More passengers need to transit quickly through secure borders. Focus needs to move to new technology to automate the screening process. No local screening of images, just automatic portals to screen people and baggage. Think of escalators that tick over until needed and then rapidly ramp up to full speed. Just wondering if there wouldn't be a method of thermal imaging to detect aircraft and maritime cargo containing oppressed animals. For example, in some third world countries, they stuff rare birds in plastic water bottles as an atrocious method of exporting rare species for profit.
Seems to me like too many people have signed up for and have been admitted to the low security admissions through airport screenings. I would restrict it to people who are Westerners born and raised in Western countries who aren't threats or immigrants who've been Westerners for at least 50 years.
